Just over a year ago we sent you an email with the subject line, “COVID-19 & Its Impact on Our Programs.” We told you about all that we were doing to keep youth safe and how we were limiting visitors. A few days later we shared that we stopped doing our after-school programs in person and switched to phone calls and video support for these vulnerable young people. As spring turned to summer we shared how our youth and families were affected and what we were doing to help. It’s been one entire year since the beginning of this period of adaptations, challenges, restrictions, growth, and change. And on this strange anniversary, we want to update you on where we are one year later.
Every year we create an annual report to reflect on our work during the prior year and to share our impact. Creating 2020’s annual report was, as you might expect, unique. We reflected on the unprecedented challenges we faced and also noticed all that hasn’t changed – our essential support is still available for youth, even if it has been adapted in some way, and youth are still encouraging us with their tenacity and dedication. It also reminded us of you and your incredible support, enabling us to continue stepping up for youth in critical moments. Thank you.
