Open Door

Join us for a virtual Open Door Information Session, held via Zoom once a month! Open Door Information Sessions are not fundraising events, rather they are opportunities for us to tell you more about what we do.  Visitors hear from our CEO and staff, learn about issues faced by youth experiencing homelessness and other crises, and see how our programs are helping some of the most vulnerable people in our community. We also offer private Open Doors which are perfect for groups and organizations. Please reach out to us if you are unable to attend one of our scheduled slots or if you would like to schedule a private session.

Some of the content references abuse, gang violence, and human trafficking, so we ask that you use your discretion when bringing children. Additionally, these tours are created for members of the community who are looking to learn about what we do rather than youth looking to access our programs.

If you are a young person interested in our programs, please visit our Programs page or contact us.

"It was an inspiring afternoon and I am proud that such a foundation exists here locally. In particular, I loved the positivity that radiates from the staff and the building itself, which was evident through the multidimensional programs and especially the art room!"

-Luma

“Attending the Second Story open house showed me that there is hope for teens who need a caring person or place to get the help they need to create a path to success in life. I am an enthusiastic cheerleader for their work.”

-Diane

“I genuinely enjoyed touring the facility and learning about the programs…It was informative but concise making it easy to stay focused… I found it most interesting to discover the many roles that the counselors at Second Story take on–it changes the definition of a therapeutic relationship and allows the kids to really bond with their counselors.”

-Lorin

“The statistics were staggering…I had no idea that stuff was going on in Fairfax County. My favorite part of the tour was hearing the stories of those served first hand. The whole thing was very impactful.”

-Athena
