Senior Program Manager, Second Story in the Community

As Senior Program Manager, you will lead and support the daily operations of our community-based programs. You’ll supervise staff, guide program planning, and strengthen outreach efforts, while ensuring our services remain impactful and responsive to community needs. This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of vulnerable youth and families by helping provide safe havens, resources, and opportunities for growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and support Second Story in the Community staff and volunteers
  • Coordinate service delivery and ensure program quality
  • Conduct research and develop recommendations to address service gaps
  • Prepare reports, monitor expenditures, and maintain program records
  • Represent the program in meetings and community events
  • Develop outreach materials and promote public awareness
  • Facilitate workshops, activities, and client referrals
  • Support donation efforts and manage site equipment and materials
  • Assist with volunteer training and supervision
  • Maintain the upkeep of community centers
  • Attend weekly supervision and staff meetings

Location: Falls Church, VA

Schedule: Full-time (40 hours/week)

Reports to: Vice President of Second Story in the Community

To succeed in this position, you must have

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Human Services, or related field preferred
  • Strong ability to engage with youth and volunteers
  • Excellent communication skills in English
  • Bilingual in Spanish
  • Experience in community organizing, education, or intervention
  • Familiarity with local resources and cultural competence in different settings
  • Valid driver’s license and insurability so you can provide transportation as needed between locations
  • CPR, First Aid, and Crisis Prevention certifications (or willingness to obtain)
  • Successful background check required
