Second Story for Teens in Crisis is an adolescent group home located in Vienna, VA. We are looking for a bilingual (English and Spanish) individual of any experience level to work as a full-time Residential Counselor. This is an excellent introduction to case management and crisis counseling in the mental health/social services field. Ideal candidates will be organized, reliable, compassionate, and eager to learn with strong communication, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills. Pay is $22/hr.
Responsibilities:
- Support residents through the daily house schedule
- Facilitate individual and group counseling sessions
- Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy living environment
- Complete clinical case management, including case notes and treatment plans
- Answer crisis hotline calls
- Conduct intakes and discharges
- Provide oral and written translation services to residents and their families as needed
Schedule (non-negotiable):
- Sunday: 8:30am-4:30pm
- Monday: 3:30pm-11:30pm
- Tuesday: 10am-5pm
- Wednesday: 8:30am-5:30pm
- Thursday: 3:30pm-11:30pm
- Friday: OFF
- Saturday: OFF
Qualifications:
- REQUIRED: Must be fully fluent in both Spanish and English
- REQUIRED: Must have a bachelor’s degree (preferably in psychology, social work, human services, or a related field)
- REQUIRED: Must be willing to undergo a background investigation prior to employment and become certified in CPR/First Aid and Medication Administration
- PREFERRED: Prior experience in the mental health field, especially with teens
- PREFERRED: Prior experience with oral and/or written transition, especially in a clinical setting
Salary:
- $22.00 per hour
